7:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday to Friday

Target Audience:

The course was developed for police officers active as collision investigators; however, is applicable to other law enforcement professionals, or private collision investigators.

Course Description:

This course builds and expands on the principles learned in the EPS On-Scene Collision Investigation (Collision Level 2 – Collision Investigation) course and introduces topics for Collision Reconstruction. The focus is to provide the collision investigator with skills and knowledge to analyze physical and documentary evidence produced during a collision investigation to conduct a collision series of event analysis and prepare an Expert Witness Report. The course will include the following topics:

• Physics and Vehicle Dynamics

• Vehicle Damage and PDOF

• Supplementary Restraint Systems and Event
Data Recorders

• Math refresher and equation derivations

• Human Factors and Perception ReactionTime

• Time and distance analysis

• Airborne/projectile motion

• Inline Momentum

• Introduction to pedestrian collision investigations

• Introduction to motorcycle collision investigations

• Role of Expert Witness

• Report and Curriculum Vitae drafting

Note:

• EPS On-Scene Collision Investigation course or equivalent is a prerequisite for the course. Enrolled candidates will be sent information to access a pre-course assessment which must be completed
prior to the training.

Course cost is $1,250.00
